4. Breeding egg moves with Smeargle

Smeargle is best known for its ability to use the move Sketch, which permanently copies the last move used by the opponent. Due to this, it can legitimately have any move in the Pokémon games except for Chatter and Struggle (not including Shadow moves). As a result of this, it can pass on any Egg move to Pokémon in the Field Egg Group.

I will explain an example on how to use Smeargle to breed egg moves. We are going to use Phanphy with 4 egg moves.

1. Head Smash
2. Heavy Slam
3. Play Rough
4. Ice Shard

For Head Smash we need a Scraggy and level it to 50 to when it gets the move.


For Heavy Slam we will need a Wailmer and level it to 50 to get the move.


For Play Rough we will need a Lillipup and level it to 45 to get the move.


For Ice Shard we need a Piloswine and breed it to get a Swinub and level the Swinub to 24 to get the move.

Everyone can catch these Pokemon in XY & ORAS.

When you get all of these Pokemon you can catch a Smeargle and give it one egg move before you catch, just like you saw in the video.

Serebii - Smeargle

Make sure the Smeargle you are going to catch is a male so it can make Pokemon babies with the mother. The female Pokemon will always be the Pokemon baby.
