8. EV training the fastest way - Example -

I hope you could understand all the info you just read in the previous two files/documents. Now I will give an example and tell you how to EV train your Pokemon the fastest way!

What do you need before you can start:

- Power items
- A Pokemon with Sweet Scent and a move that defeats all Pokemon at once (surf, petal blizzard, struggle bug, heat wave etc.) A Pokemon you can get early in the game is Combee (Vespiquen) with Sweet Scent and struggle bug (Pokemon X) and if you play Pokemon Y you can get Oddish (Vileplume) with Sweet Scent and Petal Blizzard.
- Pokerus - EXP Share key item- A Pokemon ready for EV training, make sure youre EVs are empty if not reset them with a reset bag. A Pokemon ready for EV training needs the IVs you want on it, egg moves and the right nature.

Step 1
Give the Pokemon that needs EV training Pokerus. For me it works the best to have just 2 Pokemon in the party, so Pokemon with Pokerus in the first spot. Now make sure you turn of the EXP share, we don't want any unwanted EVs. Now defeat Pokemon until the Pokerus has spread.

Step 2
Turn on EXP Share before you start this. Decide what EV you will be doing first and give the Pokemon the right Power Item. Take your Sweet Scenter with you and fly to the place where you find the horde you need. Here is a list with all the hordes and routes.

ORAS

Remember if its raining sweet scent or honey will not work in XY (they changed this in ORAS, there you can use it in the rain)

Step 3
How many EVs do you want? Most people choose 252 EVs in (special) attack and 252 EVs speed, but you can divide them any way you want. Getting 252 in 2 stats is the easiest though, you can just defeat 6 hordes and its done. You can never get more than 252 EVs in one stat so you don't have to be worried if you defeat more than the amount needed when its the same Pokemon.

The last 4 EVs give you one stat point so most people add it to HP, but its up to you.

Example
Lets take Greninja and train it how people use him the most, as a special sweeper. Give Froakie Pokerus and give it the power item for speed. For speed I go to route 8 and walk in the grass, use sweet scent and defeat 6 hordes of Wingull.

Give him the Power Item for special attack and defeat 6 hordes of Vanillite in Frost Cavern.

Calculation
1 wingull gives 1 EV in speed1 horde = 5 EVs
Power Item for speed gives +4 on every Wingull = 25 EVs
Pokerus doubles the EVs gained in battle = 50 EVs

5 x 50 = 250

So 6 hordes give 252
